Today was my first official day of summer (after the weekend and holiday). It was gorgeous for most of the day- 85 degrees nice breeze. I had cross country practice at a forest preserve near my house called Raceway Woods. I rode my bike there, 3.0 miles, into the wind the whole time, it was brutal. I was exhausted and barely had enough energy to run. Then, i had to ride 3.0 more miles back home! For some reason, mother nature was not happy with me today, and decided to turn the direction of the wind around to be in my face again. It was a long and grueling ride home, but i made it. My total riding time was 28:54 with an average speed of 12.4 mph because of the terrible wind. It was very satisfying to go out and do something without driving.
Total summer mileage: 6.0 miles
Money saved on gas (20 mpg at $4 per gallon): $1.20
